UI theme semester takes on 'Our Lives Online'

"Our Lives Online," the University of Iowa’s 2017 theme semester about the internet and technology, will explore the global system of connectedness, networks and collaboration that, along with rapidly developing technology, is changing our lives and possibilities with almost incomprehensible speed. The internet is a source of information, promoting attention to the development, access, inter-disciplinary work and cultural participation that takes place on campus, across the state of Iowa and around the world. The internet is also a tool that lets us communicate at lightning speed.

Theme Semester 2017: Our Lives Online

The University of Iowa’s spring 2017 Theme Semester, Our Lives Online, is set to explore topics related to the Internet and technology.

Our Lives Online will look at how technological advancements have influenced the way we work and connect with the world around us. Numerous activities available to campus and community members will examine topics related to social media, trends in big data, and new and rapidly-changing technology.

UI, greater community unite for annual Theme Semester

It’s also a campus that welcomes diversity among its students, researchers, and teachers. But what can happen if people from these various fields of study and from different backgrounds and perspectives collectively devote their time, energy, and knowledge to a common topic?
